Raising the Academic Achievement of our Children

A great majority of African-American Children in the city of Wilmington, Delaware are not being challenged to achieve to their highest potential. Many kids are simply unprepared for school. This blog is an extension of my passion to create parent resources at home. "Black parenting" is a complex term which includes generations of adults working together. Historically our children were raised by a "village" of caring and connected adults. This village concept worked. In today's society, that setting has changed and our children are left to fend for themselves. This is a real crisis happening and demands our undivided attention. Don't you think the time has come to stop depending on the school system to do the job that we are capable of doing ourselves? This is our "urgent issue." That is why I am here.
